How to use the final grade calculator

How the final grade is calculated
When the final exam is worth a fixed share of your grade, the score you need is: (target − current × (1 − weight)) ÷ weight. For example, with a current grade of 82%, a final worth 30%, and a target of 85%, you’d need 92% on the final.
In marks mode, the tool adds your completed marks and the exam’s maximum to get the total possible, works out how many marks that target percentage requires, and subtracts what you already have — giving the marks you still need in the final.
Reading the result
- A normal result shows the minimum score needed on the final to reach your target.
- “Already secured” means you’ll hit your target even scoring zero on the final.
- “Not achievable” means even a perfect final falls short — the tool shows the best grade still possible.
- The needed score is rounded up, since you can’t score a fraction below what’s required.
